A lot of people are quite surprised by the questions asked during the interview as there are very few people who can face them skillfully without any preparation. So before you face technical interviews you need to be prepared about the type questions asked, correct ways to answer them so that you stand different from the whole lot. Some sets of questions are presented in a different ways to confuse the applicants, to research how the applicant responds if they are taken by surprise to a completely new field. 
Though the technical skills are reported on the qualifying degrees the interviewer seems to focus on the fact that how the applicant can present their technical skills in their job. The interviewer also focuses on how the applicant will respond in a teamwork, how he can match up with his co-workers, etc. He studies these qualities from the mind of the applicant through some technical questions. So be prepared for the questions. Try to inform the interviewer about your goals, positives, interests, etc through the answers so that the interviewer gets interested in you. For this make up a list of your positives, weakness, short and long term goals while preparing for the interview. 
While taking on the interview be relaxed as the interviewer will follow how relaxed you are when you meet new clients. Behave properly, shake hands well, dress professionally, be simple and don’t show off. If you can follow these instincts then your half the job is done. Be confident, and try to reach early and try out some breathing exercises before you face the interviewer. Make your mind that this is not the last opportunity, if this is not done some better job is awaiting you. Thinking this way will give you confidence. After your interview is over thank every person responsible for your interview and quickly note down the whatever happened in the interview so that you can prepare better for the next one.
